The Drillco 1000A series reduced-shank drill bit is made from high-speed steel with a black oxide finish on the flutes and has a 118-degree conventional point for drilling low- and medium-tensile strength metals. The reduced shank drill bit, also called a Silver and Deming drill bit, has a shank that is smaller in diameter than its shaft, permitting drilling with a 1/2" drill chuck. High-speed steel (HSS) provides hardness for wear resistance, and the black oxide finish on the flutes reduces wear while promoting chip and coolant flow. The round shank accommodates most drill chucks. The drill bit conforms to American National Standards Institute (ANSI) specifications.
